Head of Ayr trip 2019

We had an absolutely FANTASTIC day at our Heads of Ayr trip with Primary 4 and 5! Our day started with our journey down to Ayr and then a play in the park when we arrived. We then had our lunch and made our way to the Play Barn where we had the full barn just for our school, and we could go on the slides as many times as we wanted to, it was great! Miss Tolland even went down the slide and said she felt like a Primary 3 again!
After lunch we made our way to the farm and fed some goats, they were very cute. We also got a chance to play on the huge bouncy pillows and the pirate ship before making our way back to Edinbarnet.

The sun shone all day and we loved every minute of it. We can’t believe that we only have 3 weeks left of Primary 3...where has the time gone?!

World Book Day 2019

We had an absolutely Supercalafragilisticexpialidocious day for World Book Day! We spoke about different characters from lots of different books and why having characters are really important! Miss Tolland wasn’t here on WBD...we were being taught by a Mrs Poppins, who had a very strange accent...but we hear that Miss Tolland will be back tomorrow! No more spoonfuls of sugar for us then! See you all soon...

The Science Show

In March, we were given a huge surprise when we were all invited to an amazing science show!! We learned about the Earth and some of the different counties that we have on Earth. We also learned about the fact that the Earth orbits the sun, but it also also constantly spinning...why are we not so dizzy all the time?...Anyway, we then learned a bit more about gravity and how this stops us all from feeling the Earth moving. We had a great time at the show!! Thanks to Mrs McFarlane for organising this for all of the infant classes.

Run run run!

In term 3, we were focusing on Money and had great fun learning about how to add together different coins and notes. We loved using our interactive white board to do so! After all of that hard work in Maths, we worked in teams during our PE time to take part in different races to find out which group would be the quickest of all!! Here are some photos below:

Steven Brown Art

Primary 3 have been learning about the work of the famous artist Steven Brown. At the beginning of the topic we made his famous McCoos, and now we have been working on our own versions of his Forest of Argyll picture that features so much beautiful colour!

Take a look below...

Measuring in Maths

Primary 3 had a wonderful time using Non-standard units of measure to measure them selfs with this week during our maths lessons. It was amazing to see how many cubes tall we all were! They also measured their desks in comparison to their whiteboards.

The Dogs Trust

We were lucky enough to have the Dogs Trust come into the School and give a presentation to the whole school, and then each class individually, about the importance of dogs welfare and how to act around dogs. This was very helpful to us as sometimes we love to pet other peoples dogs, but we now know that it is always important to ask the owners permission, and also how/how not to pat a dog!
Here are some pictures form the day!

From,
Primary 3!
